About the event

The WSU Symphony Orchestra presents their first concert of the 2018-2019 year! The concert features beloved classics of the orchestral repertoire, including Richard Wagner’s “Prelude to Die Meistersingers” and Ralph Vaughan Wiliams’s “Folk Song Suite.”

The orchestra is excited to feature the talents of Garrett Snedeker. The winner of the 2017-2018 WSU Concerto/Aria Competition, he will be performing the first movement of Sergei Prokofiev’s “Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in C”. The piece is tour de force for both soloist and orchestra. We also feature Garrett as a guest conductor. He will lead the ensemble in a performance of Johannes Brahms’s “Poco Allegretto” from Symphony No 3 in F.

This concert is open to the public and without charge.
