About the event

Student Leadership Conference is a unique opportunity to meet student leaders from across the WSU system while discussing the basics of leadership and building on your foundational skills. Participants will learn how to:

  • Describe and develop their leadership experiences and their applicability in their career.
  • Identify potential leadership educational and practical opportunities to advance their growth and development.
  • Locate various resources across campus that will aid them in their retention and graduation.
  • Explain how leadership plays a role in everyday life.

Fall ’23 Keynote Speakers

Mack Strong
Former professional football player who was a fullback for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. Since announcing his retirement after 14 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, Strong has worked with the Washington Chapter of HOPE worldwide, a non-profit organization. He is a founder of their signature program in Washington state, the Mack Strong TEAM-WORKS Academy.

Coach Kamie Ethridge
Kamie Ethridge was named the head coach of WSU women’s basketball on April 15, 2018. She is the eighth person to lead the Cougars women’s basketball program. The Hall of Famer has brought her winning ways to Pullman and has quickly elevated the WSU women’s basketball program into the upper echelon of the college women’s basketball landscape, as Ethridge guided Washington State to its first Pac-12 title in any female team sport by winning the 2023 Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas.
