Palouse French Film Festival

About the event

The Palouse French Film Festival is this October!

The WSU Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures and the UI Department of Modern Languages and Cultures invite you to the first film:

Cézanne et moi (in French w/English subtitles)
Directed by Danièle Thompson
Drama / biography – 117 min. (2016)

This historical drama traces the lifelong friendship between two renowned 19th century French artists – painter Paul Cézanne (Guillaume Gallienne) and writer Emile Zola (Guillaume Canet). First schoolmates in their native Provence magnificently rendered in the film, the two friends stay in touch over the years but seem to move apart as their personality and life style radically diverge. Their relationship is further strained as fame and success, which surround Zola, continue to elude Cézanne.

Join us for our opening reception at 6pm!
