CONCERT PROGRAM

 

Bryce Dale is a senior at Washington State University majoring in Music Education and Saxophone Performance. He will be presenting his Senior Recital: Neon Sounds of Saxophone on October 20, 2020 at 7:30 via the WSU School of Music Livestream Concert Series. Mr. Dale will perform a program of 20th Century contemporary classical music for saxophone which will include; Paul Creston’s Sonata, Improvisation, by Eugene Bozza and Ten Figures of A Dancer, by Pierre Max Dubois. The remainder of his program will include No Me Esqueca (Joe Henderson) and two baritone saxophone duets- Lament (Lennie Niehaus) and Bye Bye Blackbird (arr. by Gregory Yasinitsky). Jared Kostenko will be accompanying him on the piano and Dillon Sellers appears as a guest duet partner. Mr. Dale is a student in the saxophone studio of Horace Alexander Young.

Bryce has participated in all of the top auditioned instrumental ensembles at the School of Music, including the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Big Band 1, Latin Band, and the principle saxophone quartet at the university.

After graduation with his music education degree, Bryce plans to pursue a career in teaching in the public schools, as well as auditioning into a master’s program in the following years. In the meantime, Bryce and his father Walter have founded their own aerial drone service company in the Spokane area.
