U-FIT 4.0: A fitness program for Cougs by Cougs!

About the event

What is it?

U-Fit 4.0 is a free 12-week exercise program tailored to WSU students, designed to improve fitness and your grades!  Students participate by using any UREC facility/program to complete our UFit 4.0 Workout or their own activity. All registrants will receive a $5 off coupon to use towards any UREC fitness class for Spring 2020 Session 2. Best of all, one undergraduate participant will receive $1,000 scholarship given by ASWSU.

The UFit 4.0 Workout

Students have the option of using the free U-Fit4.0 exercise program or complete their own workouts.  The UFit 4.0 Workout is a strength and conditioning program constructed to improve several aspects of physical health including: work capacity, heart rate, range of motion at all major joints, and overall strength. The program will fit any consistent diet plan, whether your goal is to maintain your weight, build muscle, or to lose fat. Each month you will face a different stimulus to both improve results and keep the program interesting. How to Qualify to Win a Scholarship

  1. Register by Feb 2nd on the ASWSU page on Cougsync (must be currently enrolled WSU Pullman undergrad student
  2. Be active at least 4 times per week for at least 10 out of the 12 weeks to qualify. You can complete the UFit 4.0 Workout that we’ve created, or you can do your own workout. To receive credit for working out, you need to swipe in to the Student Recreation Center, Stephenson Fitness Center, Chinook Student Center Weight Room, Intramural Sports game, UREC fitness class, or ORC Trip.
  3. Submit a short essay to ASWSU to describe how this program improved your wellbeing by April 23.

In order to receive credit for your workout, you must swipe in. Swipe ins and your essay will determine the winner of a $1,000 scholarship. You must swipe in at least 4 times a week for at least 10 out of the 12 weeks of the program to be in consideration for the scholarship.

When signing up, you will also have the option to pick an orientation. Sessions to choose from are listed below. Orientations are optional, but attending an orientation is a great way to get started with the program!

We will provide optional fitness testing at the orientation if you are interested in the following assessments:

  • Body Composition Testing
  • Cardiovascular Testing
  • Power Testing
  • Strength Testing

If you are interested in a fitness assessment, please bring workout clothes to your orientation.

UFIT 4.0 Small Group Training and Group Fitness Coupons:

By signing up for the U-Fit 4.0 challenge you will automatically receive a 5-dollar coupon for any Small Group Training or Group Fitness Class starting second session of spring semester.  Second session begins on March 9th and goes until May 3rd.  This is a great way to stay motivated and push through the final weeks of the challenge.  And remember, all UREC programs count toward the 4 days per week that competitors are to maintain to be eligible for the scholarship!
