Startup Spokane Weekend

About the event

Washington State University Spokane and the Riverpoint Interprofessional Education and Research organization invite you to Startup Spokane Weekend, March 1-3. It’s a 54-hour weekend centered on action, innovation, and education.

The Startup crew is devoted to teaching people, including students, about creating startup businesses and developing their entrepreneurial ideas. Over 400 weekend events have been held in 100 countries since 2011. This is your chance to test your entrepreneurial spirit right in your own backyard.

The event is open to the public at $85.00 per person, and all students from area universities can attend for $55.00 per person. The fee includes all meals from Friday night until Sunday night. Registration is still open at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/5003605920#.

Thanks to a grant earned from the WSU CougParents Program, the WSU Spokane student government is able to subsidize up to 70 WSU students so they can attend for free. Space is still available for all WSU students statewide. Be sure to click on the special registration site and register today.

The featured speaker at Startup Spokane Weekend is Lisa Shaffer from Paw Print Genetics. Judges include Stephanie Schrieiber from Magner Sanborn, Jon Copeland from Nuvodia, Tom Simpson from Spokane Angel Alliance, and Chhe Taing from Keiretsu Forum. The weekend coaches are Norm Leatha from Gonzaga University, Steve Trabun from Avista Corporation, Chip Overstreet from MyBuys.com, Chad Skidmore from INHS, Jim Schlosser from Pacinian, Steve Duvoisin from Inland Imaging, Darby McLean from GenPrime and Eric Agnew from Itron.
