Welcome to Meeting 3, Cougs!

Now that you understand the basics of legislative roles and have crafted your advocacy message, it’s time to prepare for the real thing—engaging with lawmakers at the Capitol.

This session will focus on:

• • What to expect on Coug Day: Schedule, logistics, dress code, and etiquette

• • Navigating the Capitol: Where to go, how to check in, and who you’ll meet

• • Role-playing legislative meetings: Practice conversations with mock legislators

• • Building rapport: How to make a lasting impression and follow up effectively

• Amplifying your impact: Using social media and storytelling to share your experience

As your Director of Legislative Affairs, I’ll walk you through the day’s flow, answer questions, and help you feel confident and prepared. This is where your preparation turns into action and where your voice helps shape the future for Global Campus students.
