PRESENTER: Dr. Kira J. Carbonneau
This session examines evidence-based instructional strategies that instructors can use to explicitly teach learning strategies to veterinary students across didactic, laboratory, & clinical instruction. Grounded in research on multimedia learning, deliberate practice, case-based instruction, & simulation-based education, the session highlights how instructors can scaffold metacognition, improve transfer of learning, & support. Participants will explore practical approaches for embedding worked examples, self-explanation, feedback timing, & reflective practice.
