Acclaimed Writer Justin Torres
About the event
JUSTIN TORRES is author of the critically acclaimed novel We the Animals. His celebrated short stories appear in The New Yorker, Harper’s, Granta, and The Washington Post. Torres graduated from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, held the Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University, and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study Fellowship at Harvard. He has taught at Columbia University, Lesley University’s Low Residency MFA Program, the 92nd Street Y, and currently teaches at The Writers’ Foundry MFA Program at St. Joseph’s College. He lives in Los Angeles, where he is Assistant Professor of English at UCLA. In 2016, he will be Picador Guest Professor for Literature at the University of Leipzig.
