Advocacy 101

Spokane Academic Center - WSU Spokane, Spokane, WA
SAC room 241

About the event

Health Equity Circle is hosting “Advocacy 101” with the Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility (WPSR). Staff and experienced volunteer advocates from WPSR will share how health professionals have successfully advocated for policies in the past and they will teach various advocacy skills. This event is open to students and community members!

We will also have a special guest, Twa-le Abrahamson, who is a Spokane Tribal advocate who worked to expose the effects of the Midnite Mine, an open-pit uranium mine located in the Spokane Reservation. Twa-le is also an Organizer of the RIver Warrior Society and has been involved in countless other community organizing efforts.
