CAH Panel/Discussion: Calories & Culture

Online

About the event

Food banks have become an increasingly important way to support members of our community. Increasingly, however, providers are being challenged to move beyond standard fare and into food that recognizes and sustains diverse peoples. How can today’s food banks and distribution centers better identify and respond to the diverse communities in their midst?

Roxana Pardo Garcia of La Roxay Productions (Alimentando El Pueblo), Taylor McHolm Director of the Student Sustainability Center (University of Oregon), and Lisa Barrell and Mackenzie Grinnell (Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s Traditional Foods Program) will join us for a panel discussion surrounding topics of food banks and culturally resonant foods. After sharing about their work, panelists will be available for a question and answer segment.

Connection information will be posted at cah.wsu.edu prior to the event.
