About the event

We’re so excited to have you join us as we make our own sugar skulls in honor of Dia de Los Muertos! Sugar Skulls are a special aspect that is usually seen displayed on the Altars or Ofrendas that folks will create to honor their loved ones and ancestors. Whether you celebrate this holiday or not, all are welcome to learn and create their very own Sugar Skull to take home! This workshop is best if you can attend BOTH dates.

Part 1: Tuesday, October 27 from 12  – 1 pm
During part 1, you will first get some understanding of the significance of the Sugar Skull and begin the first phase of making your own!

Part 2: Wednesday, October 28 from 12 – 1 pm (Bustad Hall, 134/Mickelsen Lounge)
During part 2, your sugar skull molds will be dried and READY for painting/decorating. After this portion is complete, we will hold on to your sugar skull for maximum drying and then you can pick it up from Kristine’s office later on the same day.
