About the event

To recognize and honor their transition to nurse practitioner education, the WSU College of Nursing presents each Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student in a nurse practitioner track with a white coat.  The white coat symbolizes a standard of professionalism and care that WSU DNP students will uphold as they wear their white coats while completing clinical/practicum hours and into their careers.

This ceremony is open to Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students graduating this spring (2024) and next spring (2025). This new annual tradition begins in the spring of 2024 with ceremonies being held at WSU Vancouver and WSU Spokane locations.
