About the event

Hestan Smart Cooking

Hestan Smart Cooking is at the forefront in bringing new technologies into the kitchen.  HSC has created smart pan and smart induction burner technology able to be controlled through mobile devices.  The mobile, service, and firmware engineering teams in addition to working closely together also combine with Culinary Science and a team of cooks led by Chef Philip Tessier.  This combination of skillsets along with technology is changing how pan and kitchen appliance companies view their business and their customers.  Most recently the new GE Café’ line of induction cooktops contains HSC technology.

My role within HSC is wide ranging.  The challenges we face are many and ever changing.  Integrating our technology with GE involved both technical and organizational issues.  In addition to the technical discussions within the Mobile Team (iOS and Android devices) I also coordinate with the Service, Firmware, Designers, QA, Support, Marketing, and Culinary teams.

One thing to never forget is the core of it all is the people involved and their ability to work together and get the right things done on time.
