Faculty Artist Series: Wind Chamber Music

About the event

The Solstice Wind Quintet will perform a wide array of wind duos along with woodwind quintets. Works by Marion Bauer, Jan Bach, Jean-Michel Damase, Jorgen Jersild, and Heitor Villa-Lobos will be performed by faculty members Sophia Tegart, flute; Keri McCarthy, oboe; Shannon Scott, clarinet; Martin King, horn; and Ryan Hare, bassoon. The program combines well-known repertoire such as Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 6 with rarely performed works like Jorgen Jersild’s At spille i skoven “Music-making in the forest”: Serenade for quintet. Music from America, Brazil, Denmark, and France will be presented on this exciting program.
