Grand opening of WSU’s Trimble Technology Lab, October 23

Washington State University will celebrate the grand opening of the Trimble Technology Lab in the School of Design and Construction, part of the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, from 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23 on WSU’s Pullman campus. This open-house-style event is open to all students, faculty, visitors, and the public and will feature remarks from university leaders and Trimble leadership, as well as a tour of the lab and demonstration of the technology.
Building on a commitment to cultivate a highly trained workforce that will drive the innovative solutions of tomorrow, Trimble and WSU have established this state-of-the-art technology lab in Carpenter Hall rooms 325 and 312.
The aim is to advance WSU’s commitment to producing “work-ready, day-one” graduates by providing access to and training in the tools they’ll ultimately use in the office and field upon graduation. Incorporating Trimble technology into WSU programs also is integral to supporting our mission of producing and sharing practical knowledge through research and instruction for the betterment of society.
The Trimble Technology Lab will provide students enrolled in the School of Design and Construction and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering with hands-on experience with a wide breadth of Trimble solutions. The lab will expand the university’s access to—and expertise in—surveying and GIS, cost- and model-based estimating, construction sequencing, site logistics, building energy analysis, constructible Building Information Modeling (BIM), and much more. In addition, having the Trimble Technology Lab on campus and incorporating the technologies into curriculum and research will amplify the university’s already strong interdepartmental collaboration.
