About the event

Brian Hewitt is the Project Contract Manager and Intellectual Property Manager at Nuclear Solution, a  division of Veolia, a global technology firm, www.nuclearsolutions.veolia.com. Brian has 12+ years experience in team management, intellectual property development, contract management, project management, and client relations, with a career focus on patent engineering. His past includes many years as a Seattle dotcom “start-up-aholic”, from company inception through exit strategy sale, as well as a lengthy past in consumer psychology and real estate finance. He has helped guide more than 40 WSU Bremerton students to successfully submit patents related to their senior design projects. He serves on the OC/WSU External Engineering Advisory Board.

This presentation is part of a semester-long seminar on the “soft”, but hard to learn, professional skills that are essential to a successful engineering career. The speakers are engineers and other members of Kitsap technology firms. Topics that will be covered in the seminar include project management, communication, ethics, process safety, divergent thinking, careers in large engineering firms, and working for global engineering firms.
