International Peace Educator Hosts Student Affairs Staff Workshop

Faculty are invited to a workshop held:
- 10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 9, Chinook 150 – Student Affairs Staff Workshop | Courageous Leadership: Building Peace in Contentious Times
Dr. Romano has implemented innovative educational programs in Africa, South America, Asia, Europe and the US. These programs have supported thousands of students in learning practical strategies for building healthy communities, becoming global leaders and productively engaging with conflict. He has spoken numerous times at the United Nations and has collaborated with the Department of Public Information to promote the Gandhi-King Season for Nonviolence and the International Day of Peace. He currently serves as a professor of conflict analysis and resolution at George Mason University.
He will host other events throughout the day, including a keynote address, “Civility and Difference: Sustaining Conversations that Matter on Campus,” at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, in the CUB Senior Ballroom.
Events are sponsored by the Student Entertainment Board, Office of the Provost and WSU Housing & Residence Life.
