About the event

The Washington State University Symphony Orchestra presents its first concert of the Spring 2016 semester with a concert of guests.

The concert opens with a preview performance of this Spring’s Mom’s Weekend Opera Workshop performance with music from Franz Lehar’s “The Merry Widow.” The orchestra then welcomes WSU President Daniel Bernardo to the stage, as he narrates Sergei Prokofiev’s delightful “Peter and the Wolf.” A children’s classic, the piece tells the adventure of a young boy through the voice of a narrator, and various characters represented by members of the orchestra.

This concert is open to the public and without charge.
