About the event

Doug Hendrickson is a 1984 graduate of the University of Texas in Chemical Engineering and has a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University.  Doug has served in governmental, industrial, independent consulting, private practice, and governmental contractor engineering capacities within the major scopes of environmental protection and the processing and management of radioactive hazardous wastes.  He is a current member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Licensing and Professional Development Committee, an officer of the AIChE Nuclear Engineering Division, and a Board member of the Washington State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

This presentation is part of a semester-long seminar on the “soft”, but hard to learn, professional skills that are essential to a successful engineering career. The speakers are engineers and other members of Kitsap technology firms. Topics that will be covered in the seminar include project management, communication, ethics, process safety, divergent thinking, careers in large engineering firms, and working for global engineering firms.
