About the event

Harry (Ed) Williams is a 1969 graduate of WSU in Electrical Engineering and earned a Masters in EE at Pullman in 1974.  Ed worked in the power industry for 45 years first in construction, design and startup of nuclear and coal plants with the Bechtel Corporation and then with various electric utilities:  Portland General Electric, Grant County PUD, Four Dam Pool co-op in Alaska, and the City of Centralia, retiring as General Manager of City Light in 2013.  His expertise is in nuclear, coal and hydro generation and utility operations.

This presentation is part of a semester-long seminar on the “soft”, but hard to learn, professional skills that are essential to a successful engineering career. The speakers are engineers and other members of Kitsap technology firms. Topics that will be covered in the seminar include project management, communication, ethics, process safety, divergent thinking, careers in large engineering firms, and working for global engineering firms.
