About the event

During the summer 2021, our SDC Arch 510 Studio students explored two very unique concepts in their design work:

Professor John Abell’s Studio mentored by renowned architects Chris Sharples, Partner with NYC-based SHoP Architects, and Robert Humble, Partner with Seattle-based Hybrid Architecture, explored social justice through mixed-use affordable housing in Japantown, Seattle.

Professor Ayad Rahmani’s studio challenged students to interrogate visionary potentials for rooftop life based on a dystopian short story by Alan Maskin, co-instructor of the course and a principal and owner of the global collaborative design firm Olson Kundig.

Please join us for a presentation of these fascinating proposals.
