Why Simulation Training Matters
Just like pilots train in flight simulators before flying real passengers, our veterinary students practice on lifelike models and virtual patients before treating real animals, supporting real farmers and pet owners, and safeguarding the real health of our communities.
Our Simulation-Based Education (SBE) program provides a safe learning environment where students can:
- Perfect surgical techniques on realistic models
- Practice emergency procedures without risk
- Build confidence through hands-on experience
- Learn from mistakes without consequences to real patients
- Ensure the safety and welfare of their future patients
World Achievement
WSU College of Veterinary Medicine is the first and only veterinary program globally accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare –the same organization that sets standards for human medical simulation.
State-of-the-Art Training
Our brand-new $8 million simulation center features the same advanced technology used to train human doctors.
Better Outcomes
Students graduate job-ready with real-world experience, leading to better care for your pets and animals, you, and your community.
