About the event
The WSU School of Music will host the 6th annual Young Men in Song Festival. Each year we invite high school and middle school directors to bring their tenors and basses to campus for a day of rehearsals, sectionals, sessions on technique, a quiz bowl, and a final informal performance. The directors have their own itinerary which consists of a masterclass on the male head voice, a panel discussion where they speak with our music education majors, time observing our faculty during sectional/tutti rehearsals, and a session where the directors meet to discuss items which concern them, their respective districts, and eastern Washington.
This year we are excited to host 20 schools and 270 students to campus. Their final informal performance will take place at 3:30 pm in Bryan Hall Theatre. Since the group is so large, they perform from the house and the audience is seated on the stage. We welcome you to attend this performance.
This concert is open to the public and without charge.
