The Washington State University School of Music will present their first jazz concert of the year on Tuesday, October 12, at 7:30pm, in Kimbrough Concert Hall. The concert will feature faculty ensemble Jazz Northwest, the award-winning WSU Jazz Big Band and Big Band II under the direction of Regents Professor and Coordinator of Jazz Studies Greg Yasinitsky.
WSU School of Music will present the 2021 Family Weekend Vocal Extravaganza on Friday October 15, 2021 at 7:30 pm in Bryan Hall Theatre. This concert is free to the public and donations are welcome. Audience members will be required to wear masks. WSU’s Opera Workshop, University Singers, and Concert Choir will perform.
Continuing with Oktubafest, this year’s guest artist is Jeremy Crawford (Associate Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Alabama). He will play an eclectic recital of music from his recent albums and newly composed tuba music. Crawford will be joined by Karen Nguyen on piano.
Performing Yamaha Artist, Jennifer Cavanaugh (University of Montana), will perform a program of recent music for oboe and English horn.
