Business Technology Symposium to Discuss Executive Career Paths in Tech

Joe Guptill, CIO at Guimont Capital and CEO/owner at VMS Technology, and Jason Stefanski, CIO/principal at GeoEngineers, will present “From WSU to the C-Suite: A Tale of Two CIOs” focusing on their individual career experiences and roles as corporate leaders in the tech industry.
The symposium is hosted by the Carson College of Business Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship. It is free and open to the public.
Guptill has held executive roles in the seafood and pharmaceutical industries for the last 25 years. In 2024, he became the CIO at Guimont Capital, a private commercial lending company. At Guimont, he focuses on creating technology-driven customer solutions that align with the company’s mission to provide flexible funding options.
After graduating from WSU, Stefanski worked in a variety of industries including manufacturing, entertainment, intellectual property, ecommerce, and engineering. He’s responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and direction of technology at GeoEngineers.
