About the event

Energy Systems Innovation Center (ESIC) & Advanced Grid Institute (AGI) hosts “IEEE 2800 Adoption Journey in SPP: From IEEE 1800-2022 to IEEE 2800.2-2026” to be presented by Dr. Mostafa Sedighizadeh, Lead Engineer, Energy Policy & Innovcation Team, Southwest Power Pool

OVERVIEW
This presentation traces SPP’s journey in adopting and implementing the IEEE 2800 family of standards for inverter-based resources (IBRs). It highlights the evolution from IEEE 2800-2022 requirements to the newly published IEEE 2800.2-2026 implementation guidance, including SPP’s regulatory, stakeholder, planning, modeling, and interconnection efforts. The presentation will discuss key milestones, lessons learned, and the ongoing evolution of IBR performance, modeling, and compliance requirements across the interconnection lifecycle.
