PRESENTER: Dr. Ryan Baumwart, Associate Professor of Cardiology in the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital

The webinar will cover feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM): reviewing the diagnosis, treatments, monitoring, and prognosis. Both standard of care treatments and newer pharmacologic therapies with an emphasis on Rapamycin will be covered.

Dr. Baumwart has been caring for patients in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital’s cardiology service for many years now. Originally from Oklahoma, Dr. Baumwart earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University before completing an internship and residency at Ohio State University. When Dr. Baumwart isn’t at the hospital, he stays busy at home entertaining his two children and caring for his family’s two dogs, three cats, three horses and four chickens.

WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine Continuing Education Program offers a wide range of educational opportunities to increase knowledge, competency, and performance of veterinary practitioners and technicians.
