Human-Centric Lighting: Human Responses and Design Consideration

About the event

In this lecture, a human-centric lighting framework will be introduced and key human responses will be discussed. The goal is to engage future architects and designers in understanding the implications of lighting design decisions on building occupants. The responses that will be discussed include visual responses such as perceived luminance distribution, discomfort from glare, satisfaction, color perception, flicker, and other non-visual responses. To demonstrate these responses, results from a series of studies will be presented with a focus on quantifying the responses and informing future design decisions
