PRESENTER: Dr. Kline, Associate Professor of Neurology in the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital

When dealing with neurologic disease in the canine and feline, one of the key diagnostic parameters is cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis. In most cases,  CSF analysis is followed by imaging such as MRI to help determine where the lesion is in the central nervous system. In most cases, the general practitioner will not be performing CSF taps and analysis in their practice, but the value of this lecture is to discuss the various finding on CSF analysis and linking it to certain disease processes as well as discussing the process of CSF collection so the practitioner will be able to discuss the process prior to referral. A discussion of differentials and treatments will also be discussed to add to the value of the discussion.
