TITLE: Overview of the Access Center & Student Accommodations

Ever wondered about the process of accommodations for students with disabilities? Understanding the process can be very helpful to instructors and help ensure that accommodations are reasonable and appropriate, which is in everyone’s best interest. In this session, Matthew Jeffries will briefly discuss the Americans with Disabilities Act and compliance requirements. He’ll provide an overview of how the process of determining reasonable and appropriate accommodations works in general, and explain how the Access Center exists to support instructors in navigating accommodations in their teaching. A case study will be used for discussion as well.
