About the event

The Thriving Authentically: Next Generation Stories program will feature panelists who identify as Next Generation College professional offering students valuable industry insights regarding their chosen career paths and how they cultivated their professional and personal identities on that journey. Join us for a 90-minute vibrant conversation with several employers representing companies that hire WSU Cougs as they share their stories and answer your questions. This event is a partnership of the Academic Success and Career Center and First at WSU. The event will be hosted virtually via Zoom and in-person at the brand new First-Gen Student Center in Lighty 260X.

Our event objectives include:

  • Provide authentic, diverse representation in their industry and recognize and create a dialogue around the unique cultural and professional journeys.
  • Provide dialogue and learning through diverse, equitable, and inclusive programming.
  • Teach WSU students valuable insights from the panelist perspectives regarding their chosen careers/ degrees and how they cultivated their professional and cultural identity.
  • Through dialogue, develop an emerging awareness of the potential inequitable/unknown challenges faced by persons entering the professional world.
