Speaker: Slater Weinstock

Abstract:
The seminar will cover the Web Authentication API (also known as WebAuthn), and we will explore how passwordless authentication works. This will include a conversation over Passkeys.

Further, we will cover the security implications of using a password and how WebAuthn addresses these security concerns.

Speaker Bio:
Slater Weinstock is a Security Engineer with Casaba Security. He has a background in working on multiple high-profile projects with clients including Microsoft and Meta. Slater focuses on new identity providers, authentication mechanisms, state machines, and mobile application security. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Washington State University.
