About the event

Join Dr. Alexander Spradlin in his talk that focuses on how and why people seek out others through technology, like social media, and how the use of technology impacts our offline relationships.

Dr. Spradlin is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology. He regularly teaches courses on motivation, personality, self-control, and gender. He also heads the Anxiety, Stress, and Coping Lab, where he and his research assistants conduct research on the use of cannabis for stress management, including the short- and long-term viability of such practices, and the motives behind and consequences of technology use for forming social relationships.
